| I had this up on myspace, and although I'm pretty much inactive on xanga, I thought I'd post it because it needs to be heard. So, let's get the happy part out of the way.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Saddam was executed last Saturday, 6 AM in Baghdad. Many people around
the world, Muslim alike, rejoiced at his death. Whether you belive he
was a terrorist or not, the timing of his death could not be any more
humiliating to him, or the religion of Islam.
This saturday was Eid-Al-Adha, a celebration of Abraham's sacrifice of
his son. We celebrate the mercy and benevolence of Allah with this
holiday.
"Eid-Al-Adha" literally means "The Festival of Sacrifice."
Traditionally, during this holiday, Muslim families pay for a sacrifice
of either a cow, a goat, etc. Sometimes the sacrifice is done in
America, but the majority of what happens is that families pay for a
sacrifice in their home country, and the meat is cooked to give to the
poor.
Now, what the hell does it mean for a man of Islam to be hanged on this
day? He was a Sunni Muslim, like the majority of Muslims, and the
majority of the Iraqi government. I believe that the Muslim people have
enough integrity and common sense to know that to hang a man on such an
auspicious day is not only ill-omened, but ridiculously cruel to
Muslims around the world.
I am more than convinced that somehow the American government played an
active role in choosing this date: to set Saddam Hussein as a human
sacrifice to "God." That kind of degradation to the Muslims is
intolerable.
All the fucking terrorists in the world aren't Muslims, assholes. Islam
preaches peace and empathy. It preaches tolerance. It's the only
fucking religion that even acknowledges the other three Monotheistic
faiths. Jesus is a prophet. And Eid-Al-Adha itself is a celebration of
what Abraham did. What does Christianity say about Islam? Nothing. What
does Judiasm say about Islam? Clearly, with all the rivalry, nothing
good.
I don't care if you're reading this and going, "I can't fucking believe
her, all the trouble in the Middle East right now is the fault of
Muslims." I don't.
Really, if you can't get your head out of your ass, where American
media and the fucking hypocricies of the president has put it, then
there's no point in even trying to comprehend things that go around you.
Eid Mubarak everyone.

| Well-- it's been like, what, two months since my last update? Things haven't really changed, except, school has restarted, I now have five bettas, and I also have my driver's license. I changed the layout because it's not only convenient because of the holiday season, but the characters are pretty damn cool too. To hear the audio though, you gotta click the tiny play button. It's a youtube video embedded, but the video's pretty graphic/gory, so just click the miniscule dot to hear the song. I exhausted all my sources, but couldn't find the song. It's Hellraiser by Suicide Commando, I'm pretty sure this is the VNV mix, but I'm a fan of the psychopath mix, which is completely unavailable.
Sweet-- back to work, I guess.
Sorry I haven't been on?

| This weekend was busy busy, had a godamn five hour class on Saturday, thank goodness I've gotten that over with. I have a driving lesson today, it's kinda scary to go out on your own even though you already know how to drive, especially since here we've got narrow streets and parking on both sides. It's alright though, it'll make me a more cautious driver.
Cat, I hope you have an awesome awesome time in China, check your FC soon, preferably before you leave for China? G, next Saturday then! Jing, good plan! Are you free on weekends? I'd love to hang out then, I'm on a less time constraint too, and I'll definitely call you with plans. Mon: I definitely need to see you before the summer ends, so maybe you wouldn't mind chilling with Jing and me?
I bought a betta, and it's all psycho now, freaking out. It's made a bubble nest, and I'm not feeding it because it won't eat the pellets, so it's tough love. It's really beautiful though, I'll try and get a picture of it up soon.
Hope everyone is doing well!

| Friday was pretty good, I went out with two friends to go see Pirates, and surprisingly, since I really disliked the first one, I was pleased with the sequel. Although, the ending sucked and the movie was packed with plot-irrelevant action scenes. Then I wandered around Broadway for a while, kinda bored because I had nothing to do.
Oh yeah, I got my driver's permit like, two weeks ago and my parents have yet to set up damn lessons for me-- not that I really need them, I kind of already know how to drive. But I mean, highway driving and stuff is a good thing to be familiar with. Also, a road test is mandatory, so might as well get that over with.
And now since Italy's won, there's not gonna be much to watch on TV, except Rescue Me and Always Sunny. (which is so weird this season)

| This week has been bliss. I haven't been plagued with anything but the occasional chore to clean something, haven't been online because I don't want to be. (WTF, I know.) And I'm actually excited to start studying for SAT's. I know, it's such a stupid thing to be looking forward to, but I've got my books and like, all ready to go!
Oblivion. Yes.
